Bring your own bag~

Today is the first day of the "Bring Your Own Bag" campaign, aimed at getting Singaporeans to use fewer plastic bags. And as a responsible Singaporean, i decided to go the supermarket and take a look~ The oldies in my area were all kinda pissed, reluctant to pay for the plastic bags~ i was the cool, young, and love-this-earth sensible kid that decided to stuff all the chips and peanuts into my baG, a hold my load of bread on hand.

According to Yahoo.SG news, some shoppers came with their own bags and those who didn't, bought one on the spot. From what i saw, somoe of them were persuade to purchase the reusable bag, while others just paid or "donanted" 10c to help environmental causes. Making those old folks to buy these bag may seems useless and pointless.. but what can we do? old floks takes a longer time to get used to stuffs~ moreover, our nation's environmental education and implentation on environmental excerise wasn't really a big HOO-HA till now, when we see the effects on how El Nino is actually tearing the Earth, we're staying in now, apart. IF we have started to use reusable bags 20 years ago, the mix feelings of using it now wont be a problem.

Moreover, many other parts of the world has already been practising this for ages, it's really kinda late for us as the citizens of The Garden City to start this practise so late~ but it's always better late than never~

Of course, using lesser plastic bags does make a difference, but just that is not enough. to conserve the place we are staying is not really that difficult man~ just 3 steps.. how hard can that be?
REUSE, REDUCE, RECYCLE
these steps have been mention for at least 4 million times, and everyone is just so busy , they just overlook details like this.. geez~~ just a feeble self cant make a difference, we need to do this together.. i dun wish to life in scrap metal in 30 years time, cause there anit anymore natural environment for us to blend in...
